Your zip code is more important to your health than your DNA.
Abandoned gas stations, shuttered dry cleaners, the closed mill or factory that was once a top employer in the community are all examples of brownfields. Their existence can bring down a neighborhood’s health, wellbeing, and wages. Brownfields are also an opportunity to rewrite a community’s fortune: to build thriving spaces through land recycling. The Center for Creative Land Recycling helps communities transform abandoned and contaminated properties into community assets including: commercial/retail space, affordable housing, parks or open space and more.
The Center of Creative Land Recycling supports communities in the creation of clean, healthy and safe places to live, work and play. We do this by providing cost-free (or low-cost) technical assistance, grant review and management, training, resources, and support for every step of the land reuse process. We are the nation’s oldest and largest non profit dedicated to the beneficial reuse of land, a process we call land recycling.
Our support is needed more now than ever!
The uncertainty created by the new administration means the steady hand and expert guidance from the Center of Creative Land Recycling is needed more than ever. Our expert leadership will ensure that communities continue to see the economic, social and health benefits of land reuse independent of national politics.
Donate today to help create the clean, safe, healthy places all people deserve.
