CCLR is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jean Hamerman as Executive Director. Jean has been with CCLR for 6 years, first serving as Deputy Director, and then Acting Executive Director. “Jean’s leadership has been instrumental in positioning CCLR for growth, despite the challenges of the past year. Her dedication, experience, and connections are unparalleled, and The Board of Directors is pleased to continue working with Jean in this renewed capacity,” says Mary Hashem, CCLR Board Chair.
Jean Hamerman comes to CCLR with over 20 years of experience in working to advance economic and environmental justice. She continued to advocate for small businesses as Deputy Commissioner for Business Assistance at NYC Department of Small Business Services. Later, she joined Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence and helped design and launch their Make Mine a Million Dollar Business initiative to promote women’s entrepreneurship. A life-long advocate for the environment, Jean developed an expertise in energy-efficiency in the built environment and consulted on residential retrofit and eco-efficiency measures through her company, NeighborGreen.
