Laura Burnett
Biography
For 30 years Laura Burnett has practiced planning and design of urban communities, parks, campuses, transit-oriented facilities, and regional open space networks where infrastructure, buildings, and landscape are a coordinated whole. She brings to her projects a strong commitment to the principles of stewardship and the cultural, functional, and aesthetic interface of human activity and natural systems. Awards for her design and leadership include the Caltrans Dist. 11 Headquarters, Torrey Pines City Park, City Park New Orleans, and the University of California. Ms. Burnett leads Attention Landscape Architecture from San Diego.
Currently Laura is on the California Urban Forests Council. Past service includes Urban Land Institute, San Diego Historical Resources, Colorado State University Design Review Board, The Cultural Landscape Foundation, and the ACE Mentor program.
Ms. Burnett has professional degrees from Colorado State University and Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects, an accredited professional of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and is a licensed landscape architect.
