Biography
Sophie Young is Manager of Environmental Justice and Equity at World Resources Institute. She is an environmental and urban planner who has worked across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors on sustainable and equitable development initiatives. She previously designed and led a climate and environmental justice investment program at the California Strategic Growth Council, advanced sustainable transportation infrastructure at the California Department of Transportation, and developed a forest reserve strategic plan for The Energy and Resources Institute. She is passionate about the impact of brownfield redevelopment on enhancing community vitality and fostering smart growth.
